Guest Director: Quentin Tarantino

Boom, boom. Here we are with the 11th edition of the Best and Worst of Pokémon, the weekly blog where an episode of the cartoon gets dissected and then a bunch of pop culture references are added for no reason. I’m sure you’ll just love it.

This episode is Charmander – The Stray Pokémon and is the second of the “Ash gets the Kanto starters” trilogy. It’s one of the more memorable episodes because it directly tackles the issue of Charmander possibly dying. Not fainting, or being knocked out, or being sent to another dimension where he’ll have to traverse Snake Way and avoid the Home For Infinite Losers but actual death.

By the way, once you’re done reading, why not leave a comment? And then, in addition to that, you can like this, tweet it and upvote it via those handy buttons at the bottom of the article. Pressing the buttons only takes a split-second and really helps me out so at least do that. Please?

If you want to follow along in real time, here’s a link to a video of this week’s episode. Let me know what you think.

  1. Delsaber says:

“Brock has gone all Dr. Manhattan and is having conversations with the past or something and I’m just waiting for him to clone himself to try and seduce Nurse Joy.”

I’m sure the internet will Rule 34 this one eventually.

There should really have been little red Rs on those Team Rocket rubber suits.
